The Best Online Lottery Sites in the UK
We check who sells you the entry, which licence covers it, which lotteries it carries and how a win is paid. A site only enters the ranking once it sells lottery entries.
Next to every jackpot we print the odds of winning it, so you can see what one line buys before you pay for it.

The big lotteries, ranked by your odds of the jackpot
A bigger matrix means a bigger jackpot and longer odds. The odds are for one line and stay the same however many draws you play.
- EuroMillions 1 in 139,838,160
- UK National Lottery 1 in 22,528,738
| Lottery | Country | Pick | Jackpot odds | Official price | Draws | Results |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EuroMillions | 9 countries | 5/50 + 2/12 | 1 in 139,838,160 | ≈ £2.09 | Tue, Fri | |
| UK National Lottery | 2 countries | 6/59 | 1 in 22,528,738 | £2 | Wed, Sat |
Odds and prices as published by each lottery. The scale is logarithmic: each tick is a step of the same ratio.
Three ways to play a foreign lottery online, and what each means for a win
Ticket messenger
The site buys a real ticket in the lottery's home country and holds a scan of it for you. A jackpot is claimed from the lottery itself, sometimes in person.
You pay the official price plus a service fee.
Lottery betting
You bet on the result of the official draw. The site pays winners from its own funds and insurance, not from the lottery's prize pool.
Check the licence and any payout cap in the terms.
Official online sales
Some state and national lotteries sell their own draws online to residents. Prizes come straight from the lottery, under local tax rules.
Only open to players in that country.
We are still recording which model each site uses. Until a review states it, read the site's terms for who buys the ticket and who pays a jackpot before you deposit.

Online lottery questions
Is it legal to buy lottery tickets online?
It depends on where you live, not where the lottery is drawn. Many countries allow their own lottery online and restrict foreign sites. Check the law in your country before you buy, and see our country guides.
Do online lottery sites sell real tickets?
Ticket messengers buy the official ticket for you and hold a scan. Lottery betting sites take a bet on the draw instead and pay winners themselves. Read a site's terms to see which it is before you pay.
Can a site, a system or a number pattern improve my odds?
No. Every combination has the same chance in every draw. More lines raise your chance in proportion to what you spend, and nothing else changes it.
Are lottery winnings taxed?
Usually by the country you live in, and sometimes by the lottery's home country too. US lotteries withhold federal tax on large prizes. See our guide to tax on lottery winnings.
How do I check if my ticket won?
Compare your numbers with the official lottery's published result. Our results pages list the latest draws, but the lottery's own result is the one that counts.
Set the spend before you pick the numbers.
Most lottery lines win nothing. Decide a monthly amount you can lose, and use the deposit limits on the site you play at.
